Seasonal Tree Care – Fall
From hedge trimming, to tree pruning, Burley Boys offers many services that will have your Fall landscape prepared for Winter’s wrath.
Hedging Season
Fall is a great time to perform all your hedging maintenance. To have hedges looking their best they should be trimmed twice a year, in fall & spring. Take advantage of a hedge’s slower growth rate in fall & have them shaped, to hold their form through the winter.
Structure Pruning
Once leaves have fallen from deciduous trees is an ideal time to prune them. Our arborists can identify any damaged, dead or deformed limbs for removal, resulting in a healthier, better looking tree.
Storm Safety for Trees
Most everyone remembers the big wind storms from 2006. To prevent against any unwanted tree damage in the wake of a fall wind storm follow these tips:
- Watch your trees over the different seasons to check for any abnormal leaning, shedding or cracks.
- Have our certified arborist do a visual inspection of any trees you have concerns over, to check for signs of stress, rot or deadwood.
- Have regular maintenance performed on your trees for prevention & health.

Seasonal Tree Care – Spring
Spring is a great time to tidy up Winter’s damage and prepare your yard so you can enjoy another beautiful Summer outdoors!
Hedge Trimming & Pruning
- In the spring, we recommend trimming hedges to remove the winter misery including any dead or broken branches, and to maintain shape as this is the time of year when your hedges will grow the most.
- Pruning trees in the early spring will encourage new growth, and more flowers.
Planting & Replacing Trees
- Traditionally, the best time to plant or replace trees is in early spring, before the tree has started its growth spurt.
Inventory & Tree Risk Assessments
- We advise homeowners to have an arborist complete a tree inventory & risk assessment on their property annually. A Burley Boys Tree Service Certified Arborist will visit your property, assess your trees, and provide you with a written report of their findings, and recommendations to keep your trees healthy and looking their best.
Tree Management Plans
- Burley Boys Tree Service will develop a maintenance schedule consisting of pruning, trimming, planting, removals, and other general care for your trees & hedges, conduct reviews, and advise of any recommendations to the trees on your property. Having a management plan will ensure the health, safety & appearance of your landscape for years to come.
