WE’RE HIRING! Burley Boys Tree Service is seeking experienced Tree Climbers, Technicians & Grounds Crew Members to join our team, based on the North Shore. Applicants must meet the following criteria for employment:

TREE SERVICE CLIMBER/TECHNICIAN

Duties:

  • Perform all aspects of arbor care including: tree removals, pruning, precision falling & bucking, cabling & bracing, risk mitigation, heavy rigging
  • Perform large hedging work using bucket trucks and/or ladders
  • Work with external contractors and their equipment, such as cranes & excavators
  • Coordinate with other Arborists, Climbers & Grounds crew
  • Maintain and service chainsaws and other small equipment.

Qualifications:

  • Previous tree climbing experience
  • Trained in aerial rescues
  • Trained to climb without spurs
  • Effective crew management
  • ISA Certification or Int’l equivalent an asset
  • Forest fuel reduction experience an asset
  • Invasive Plant Management and/or Pesticide/Fertilizer application experience an asset
  • Valid BC driver’s license (air brakes an asset)
  • Level 1 First Aid certificate an asset
  • Must be a Canadian resident or hold valid work visa

GROUNDS CREW

Duties:

  • Assist Tree Climbers/Technicians in tree cutting, pruning & hedge trimming
  • Clean up of debris from job sites.
  • Operate, maintain and service chainsaws and other small equipment.
  • Operate machinery including chippers, stump grinders and other small machinery
  • Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments

Qualifications:

  • Experience in landscape or tree industry an asset, but willing to train
  • Chainsaw experience an asset
  • Valid BC driver’s license (air brakes an asset)
  • Excavator experience an asset
  • Invasive Plant Management and/or Pesticide/Fertilizer application experience an asset
  • Must be a Canadian resident or hold a valid work visa.
