Winter can be a difficult season for trees, as they are hit by heavy rain and snow, freezing temperatures and high winds. However, winter can also be a good time of year to do maintenance work on your trees. Foliage has fallen from trees making structural damage easier to see, yards are not as readily used as they are in summer, causing you less inconvenience, and taking preventative care can save you the headache of any possible tree damage caused by winter weather.
The following services are recommended and offered by Burley Boys during late fall & winter to ensure the long term health of your trees:
- Pruning of dormant trees to encourage good structure and improved long term health & condition
- Inspect unions on previously topped, tightly grown, or cabled trees
- Tree inventory or risk assessment of property
- Fertilizing and/or aerating
- Hedge trimming
- Removal of snow from hedges
- Assessment and care for any damage caused by winter weather such as wind or snow
