Common indicators of a tree's health include:

  • Stiffness – If a tree looks limp compared to that of similar trees around it it could be a sign of:
    • dehydration, or over-watering
    • root rot
    • over-exposure to above average temperatures or lighting
    • poor nutrition
    • bug or disease infestation
    • breakage cause by impact
  • Size- If a tree looks healthy but doesn't seem to be growing at the same rate as similar trees around it, it could be a sign of:
    • lack of nutrition
    • lack of sunlight
