This incident occurred in spring 2009 on one of Whistler's Golf Courses.

The picture above shows a tree that had collapsed over the winter for no apparent reason. No one had witnessed the tree falling and no clues were visible indicating the cause. Since the tree was located close to a path (behind the photographer who was taking the picture) this was of great concern to the owners. Burley Boys was called in to investigate.read more =>

Tree Core Sampling

A tree carries it's medical records with it at all times. Using a Tree Core Sampler the true science of arboriculture becomes evident.

Arboriculturists extract a core sample just large enough to get meaningful results without harming the tree (shown as the white line in the illustration).

From this sample the rings (that look like vertical lines in the narrow sample) are used to determine the tree's environment and health over it's entire life.read more =>
